Early Life, Family, and Education
It’s common knowledge that Stitches was born to Esther and Alex Katsabanis on June 17, 1995, and that his place of birth was in Miami, Florida, U. S. A. He is one of the non-black rappers in the music business, being of Cuban and Greek descent.
His parents’ union came to an end when he was just a year old and he has two older siblings from his parents’ marriage – brothers, Alex Jr and Dimitri. He attended G. Holmes Braddock High School in Miami-Dade County from which he later dropped out.
Rumour has it that he was expelled from the school for hitting the Principal in the face. As the story goes, Stitches moved to South Beach, Florida and indulged in the sale of drugs and guns to make ends meet. T
his report is supported by several claims made by his siblings; from all indications, his bad-boy act started way before he hit the music scene and wowed hip-hop lovers.
Stitches was formerly married to Erica Duarte, who has eleven years on him; he was just seventeen when he married her. She served as his judicial assistant before becoming his wife during the fall of 2012. Erica featured on Paris Hilton’s My New BFF in 2008.
The couple split in 2017 after five years of marriage and Erica Duarte has been riding low since their divorce. Their union produced three children, Rex, Rocco, and Evelyn
Stitches began his rap career under the stage name, Lil Phil. Back in 2012, he released the track, My Name Lil Phil but would dump the sobriquet at age 16 and began operating under the stage name, Stitches. His debut mixtape titled, No Snitching Is My Statement was released in 2014.
The tape spawned the hit track, Brick in Yo Face and its video has since garnered over 26 million views on YouTube. In 2015, he went further to release two other mixtapes, Brick Bible and Supple and Demand and finally followed it up with the release his debut album, For Drug Dealers Only in the same year.
The next year, his second album titled Tales of a Drug Lord was released. The album included the track Pain and Success which was well received. In 2017, he embarked on the following projects: I need rehab, Cocaine Holiday, and The trap house.
The rapper’s music is inspired by the likes of Gucci Mane, Whiz Khalifa, and Juicy J who have impressed music audience with their talents. He has also tapped from the artistry of acts such as Trace Cyrus, Blac Youngsta, Compton Menace, and Fat Trel.
Stitches’ profile has not helped to counter the stereotype of crime and violence associated with rappers in the music business. He has been arrested severally; in 2017, he faced drug and gun charges in Miami, Florida. The police found weed, a gun, ammunition, and some other incriminating kinds of stuff in his possession. His attorney was able to strike him a good plea deal in the gun case.
It is said that this rapper has an estimated net worth of $500,000. With his mic skills and bad boy image, Katsabanis has been able to land over 1.6 million fans on Instagram and almost 500k subscribers on his YouTube channel.
While these are avenues that have helped him accumulate his wealth, a major bulk of his riches came from his musical career. Even though it is widely thought that dealing drugs is the major source of his wealth, we can’t authenticate this sentiment.
