Born in the city of Logan, Utah, USA, on March 5, 1980, Carl whose birth name is Shay Carl Butler was raised by his parents Carl and Laurie Butler as the oldest of four children.
The names of his siblings are Casey, Logan, and a sister Carlie. Interestingly all his siblings are YouTube personalities like him.
For instance, his brother Casey has over 500,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel while Logan has about 400,000. Carl’s nationality is American and his ethnicity is North American.
Born into a Christian home, Carl served a two-year mission term for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) before attending Idaho State University.
He, however, dropped out to pursue a business of his own. Carl married Colette Butler on January 3, 2003, after long courtship. The pair first became best of friends after Carl was invited by a close friend to watch the musical performed by a local theatre group in which Colette Crofts was playing the character of a classy nightclub singer.
