Scott Van Pelt’s birth took place on July 7, 1966, in Brookeville, Maryland, United States. His father’s name is Sam Van Pelt and his mother’s name is Cathie Mathis. He has three siblings, all brothers. Their names are Mark Van Pelt, Matt Van Pelt, and Mike Van Pelt.

In regards to his education, he studied at Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Maryland. After graduation from high school, Scott Van Pelt enrolled at the University of Maryland. There he studied radio/television and film and graduated from the same in 1988.

Soon after graduating, Scott Van Pelt began his career at WTTG-TV, an affiliate of the broadcasting company FOX. He had joined the company in 1990 and worked there for a couple of years.

In 1995, Scott Van Pelt sought a change in his work life. So, he joined the Golf Channel in 1995 as a studio host. After working there for around 5 years, he quit the job. In the yeat 2001, Pelt landed a job as a presenter for ESPN. On the channel, he presents SportsCenter.

While working at the ESPN, he has covered some major tournaments including Masters Tournament, Open Championship. Moreover, he has co-hosted Tirico and Van Pelt alongside Mike Tirico before its cancellation.
