Biography

Ryan Seacrest was born on December 24, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia. His nationality is an American and ethnicity is mixed(German, Swiss-German, Irish).

His birth name is Ryan John Seacrest. He was born to his father Gary, a lawyer and his wife Constance Marie, a homemaker.

His mother told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “Instead of playing with G.I. Joes or Cowboy and Indians,  Ryan would always have a little microphone and do shows in the house.” He has a sister named Meredith Seacrest.

Education

At age 14, he attended Dunwoody High School. He continued to work on air at WSTR until graduating from Dunwoody High School.

Later, he attended the University of Georgia and dropped out to pursue a broadcasting career in Hollywood. He studied radio broadcasting in Atlanta in the WSTR (FM) after winning an internship.

Career

In 1993, Seacrest hosted the first season of  ESPN’s Radical Outdoor Challenge. From 1994 until 1996, he served as the host for the kid’s game show, Gladiator 2000. In 1997, he hosted yet another kids’ game show, Click.

He appeared as the host of the financial game show, Lover’s Lane on Beverly Hills 90210 in ‘ Final Proof”. He then hosted the NBC Saturday Night and the reality show Ultimate Revenge on 2001.

In 2001, he served as the host of a television reality program, Ultimate Revenge, wherein he played practical jokes on family and friends, which were prompted by their own relatives and friends.

The show was aired on TNN for two years until 2003. In 2002, Seacrest accepted the position as co-host of a new Fox reality television series American Idol with comedian Brian Dunkleman.

In 2003, Seacrest hosted the spin-off show, American Juniors.American Idol’ became a major hit and catapulted his status as well. He gained national prominence and soon earned himself a celebrity status. It was the rising popularity and demand that made him the solo host for the show in its second year.
