Robert Kraft whose full name is Robert Kenneth Kraft was born on June 5, 1941, in Brookline. Harry Kraft who was his father was a devout Jew and a leader at the Jewish gathering there in Brookline.
His father was also a businessman who was into the clothing business. Kraft was brought up in the Jewish religion and his parents hoped he would become a rabbi one day.
He attained his early education at Edward Devotion School and Brookline High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University where he was made the president of his class.
Robert Kraft was also an avid football player in the university and he was a member of the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity.
Upon graduation from Columbia University in 1963, the determined Robert went ahead to obtain an MBA from Harvard Business School two years later in 1965.
Robert Kraft got married in June 1963, the year he graduated from college to Myra Nathalie Hiatt. Like Kraft, Myra was brought up in a Jewish home but at Worcester, Massachusetts.
Her father, Jacob Hiatt was into business and philanthropy while her mother was Frances Hiatt.
Myra schooled at Bancroft School in Worcester and after her graduation in 1960, she proceeded to obtain a degree at Brandeis University. However, she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer which would later claim her life in July 2011, at the age of 68.
Robert Kraft and Myra had four children together namely;
- Jonathan Kraft – presently the Head of the Kraft Group and New England Patriots;
- Daniel A. Kraft – who serves as the Head of the International Kraft Group, oversees the International Forest Product, serves as the Managing Director at the Singularity University, Vice president of Marketing in Kraft’s Sports Group and a board member of The Rivers School and Dana Farber Cancer Institute;

In June 2012, barely a year after Robert Kraft lost his wife Myra, he started dating Ricki Noel Lander, whom one might say is quite young for him, as Kraft is about 39 years older than she is. Moreso,
Robert Kraft’s girlfriend, Ricki has been confirmed to have a baby girl, but he claims that he is not the baby’s father though he has been taking care of both Ricki and her daughter, and even got them a house, in Los Angeles.
Robert Kraft has worked for his father-in-law, Jacob Hiatt in his paper packaging company. In 1968, Kraft acquired half of the venture and in 1972 he bought it off.
In that same year, he started the Kraft Group which was at the time running the business of wood and its products as well as having a sports division.
Talking more about his sports venture, Kraft partnered with some associates in 1975 to buy the Boston Lobsters though it closed down in 1978 due to the closure of the World Team Tennis League.
Alongside some partners, he obtained a large piece of land surrounding the Foxboro Stadium (then called Sullivan stadium) in Massachusetts on lease in 1985 with the plan of buying it off which he later did in 1988.
In 1994, Robert Kraft bought the New England Patriots team and incidentally, the team qualified for playoffs after a track record of failures. Later in 1996, they made it to the Super Bowl; this had only happened once since their conception.
With Robert Kraft on board and the changes within the team’s structure and hierarchy, the New England Patriots went on to become one of the most successful teams in the NFL today with the biggest names in the sport such as Tom Brady in their employ; quite a remarkable change from their normal trend!
Furthermore, Kraft decided to rebrand the stadium to Gillette stadium based on proposed suggestions. He then built the stadium with structures for a hotel, a sales store, a restaurant, and a theatre.
Robert Kraft is also the founder of the New England Revolution even though they have not yet attained the same heights and success levels with the Patriots on the field.
