Biography of Nipsey Hussle
Nipsey Hussle was born Ermias Asghedom on the 15th of August, 1985, in the Crenshaw neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.
His father was an Eritrean immigrant to the United States while his mother is of African American origin.
The information about his family is unknown. He had a sibling named Samiel Asghedom.
He had attended Alexander Hamilton High School where he dropped out before he was able to graduate after he was accused of breaking into the school’s computer lab.
Out on the streets with nothing to do, Nipsey got involved in petty crimes which led to his arrest by the LA County Lennox Sheriff department and incarceration at a juvenile facility.
When he was out, Nipsey, like almost every other person around him, joined the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips gang as he also began to rap.
In 2005, Nipsey Hussle was able to release his first mixtape titled Slauson Boy Volume 1.
He became one of the most talked-about upcoming rappers in Los Angeles in the years that followed and this landed him record deals with Cinematic Music Group and Epic Records.
By 2008, Nipsey celebrated his record deals with two mixtapes: Bullets Ain’t Got No Name, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.
He then released his debut single, Hussle in the House in the following year along with the third installment of his mixtape, Bullets Ain’t Got No Name, Vol. 3.
Nipsey’s biggest collaboration at the time came in 2010 when he was featured by Snoop Dogg on the song Upside Down which appeared in the album Malice n Wonderland.
With all the hype surrounding him, as he was also selected to XXL Magazine’s “Annual Freshman Top Ten” list, Nipsey was set to release his debut album, titled the South Central State of Mind, in late 2010, however, following disagreements with his record label, the project was shelved and he was released from the label.
Following the incident that surrounded his record deal, Nipsey Hussle decided to not go with any other label and opted to remain independent.
He founded his own label through which he released several mixtapes, one of which he famously priced at $100 per copy and made available only 1,000 hard copies.
In 2018, after a total of four mixtapes, Hussle eventually released his debut album titled Victory Lap which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 and received a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards.
This popular rapper was shot not just once but multiple times in the parking area of his LA’s clothing store. Nipsey who was 33 years old was announced dead on arrival in the hospital.
He along with the other two men were brutally gun fired by the culprits who are stable. However, the LA police said that they don’t have any information about the shooters but will soon update about them.
