She is an American singer/songwriter and actress born on the 10th day of April in 1984 in Nashua, New Hampshire. She was given the name Amanda Leigh Moore at birth but opted for Mandy Moore as her professional moniker.

Her parents are Stacy (mother), a former news reporter and Donald Moore (father) who is a pilot.

Mandy Moore has a mix of English and Irish roots and is part Russian Jewish from her maternal side. She has two siblings, an older brother, Scott and a younger brother named Kyle.

Raised a Catholic, Mandy got her early education from Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando, Florida which lasted from 1998 to 2002.

She left high school at 9th grade to focus on her debut album but did not entirely abandon her studies as she got tutors to help her out. At the age of thirteen, while she was still in high school, she began honing her singing talent and was later discovered in an Orlando studio by a FedEx delivery man who is identified as Victor.
