His parents are both engineers, his dad Henrik Albert Carlsen is a competent IT consultant while his mum Sigrun Øen works as a chemical engineer. He was brought-up alongside three sisters – Signe Carlsen, Ingrid Carlsen, and Ellen Øen Carlsen.
