In 2016, Laurie Hernandez participated in the Rio Olympics. She participated in the Summer Olympics where she independently won a silver medal and contributed to the US team gold medal.

In 2017, Laurie decided to commit to the University of Florida gymnastics team. Laurie Hernandez also participated in Dancing with the Stars at it is twenty-three season where she won the trophy.
