She was born and named Khia Shamone Chambers on November 8, 1977, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Her father worked in Miami in the early 90s and her mother, Carol Belinda Chambers was a data entry specialist but passed away in 2001.
She spent the early stage of her childhood in German town neighborhood before moving to Tampa, Florida at the age of 11.
At Tampa, Khia passed through Dowdell Middle School before going to Hillsborough High School where she was rusticated in her ninth grade. She then finished off her schooling at another school following her expulsion.
In her quest to earn a living, she worked as a bartender at a club Xs in Tampa, Florida before going into full-time music to establish her career.
Khia went into the music industry very ambitious and determined to make an impact, she started slowly without much fan base till 2002 when she released her first studio album titled Thug Misses, under Dirty Down & Artemis Records.
The album was widely received; all thanks to the lead single track titled My Neck, My Back (Lick It) that sailed the album and it eventually peaked at No. 42 on the US Billboard 200, RIAA certified the album Gold.
Following the success of her first album, she released her second studio album titled Gangstress in July of 2006, the album which debuted at No. 67 on the Billboard R&B chart was fully produced by Khia.
Her third studio album titled Nasti Musik was released on July 22, 2008. She waited for four years to release her fourth studio album titled Motor Mouf/Khia Shamone. The album was released on July 17, 2012. She would go on to release two more albums; Love Locs (2014) and Queendom Cum (2016). Since she joined the music industry, she has had over 1 million album copies sold worldwide while still holding her TV talk show.
Aside from her impact in the entertainment industry, Khia is also known to be controversial, she had had a faceoff with some entertainers following her comments that some of them found insulting. She once was alleged to have called Beyonce a Hoe, and Serena Williams a slave. She also has had face-offs with Lil Wayne and Reginae Carter and Toya Wright.
