Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson and her nephew Julian King were reportedly killed in October 2008 during a home invasion and kidnapping. However, after series of investigations by the FBI the culprit was Jennifer’s former brother-in-law named William Balfour.

ChicagoTribune reported that he was convicted with a 77-count charge of first-degree murder, home invasion and aggravated kidnapping. William Balfour is currently incarcerated in Statesville Correctional Centre in Crest Hill, Illinois.

Despite her loss, Jennifer has remained strong in the course of her career though weighed down whenever she remembers that her close family members are no more. According to her, she finds solace in her son whom she gave birth to one year after the tragedy.
