Jami Beth Gertz was born on the 28th of October, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up with her parents and two brothers – Scott and Michael – in Glenview, a wholesome suburb. Her father, Walter Gertz was a builder and contractor and her mother was Sharyn Gertz.
Jami is Jewish and was raised in a Conservative Judaism household, along with her siblings.
The young actress attended Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois. After High School, she studied Drama at New York University.
