Auctioneer Charles Hanson was born on 29 May 1978 to British parents in Holbrook, Derbyshire, England. He has a younger sister but he has not revealed about her including his family. He shares a very close bonding with his sister.

Since his childhood, Charles is a very hard-working and has a hobby of collecting antiques. He studied in high school in his birthplace and later he applied for MRICS and got qualified at the first attempt.

Outside from antique shows, Hanson appeared on BBC series Casualty and made up the teams, raised some fund for Children in Need.
