Biography of Bobby Lee

Bobby Lee was born as Robert Lee, Jr. to his parents – Robert and Jeanie Lee on September 17, 1971, in San Diego, California. He is the first of two sons in the family.

As early as 12 years old, Lee went through rehab following serious meth and marijuana abuse. However, he got clean at the age of 17.

Lee left his parents’ house at the age of 18 after graduating from Poway High School in Poway, California. He worked in restaurants and coffee shops in order to make ends meet and at the same, he attended Palomar College.

His career in comedy started when in 1994, he lost his job at the coffee shop after the business closed down. Subsequently, he worked odd jobs at the La Jolla Comedy Store in San Diego and later tried his hands at stand-up during one of the amateur nights at the club.

A year later he was getting offers to open for Pauly Shore and Carlos Mencia. He also got a regular job at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles owned by Mitzi, Pauly Shore’s mother.

Bobby Lee’s Career

Lee started working in coffee shops and restaurants to make ends meet. His career in the comedy field began in the year 1994 when he lost his first job at the coffee shop and he joined comedy store.

For a few months, he worked odd jobs at the La Jolla Comedy Store in San Diego and later on he decided to attempt some stand-up during one of their amateur nights.

After a year, he got offers to open for Pauly Shore and Carlos Mencia.  And he also got a full-time job at The Comedy Store owned by Pauly Shore’s mother in Los Angeles.

In 2001, Lee joined the cast of Mad TV, where he was the only cast member of Asian descent. He was associated with the show until 2009.

Later on, he appeared in several movies and TV series such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2002, Hangover in 2010, Chelsea Lately in 2010, The Dictator in 2012, Animal Practice in 2012 and Laid in America, a British comedy film in 2016.

Relationship

Though he doesn’t flaunt it in the media, Bobby Lee is married to his longtime girlfriend, Khalyla.

The couple met on popular online dating site known as Tinder.

After much speculation and rumors about their relationship, Bobby spilled the beans on social media, confirming that they are an item. The couple made it official when they got married in August 2016 at New York Church.
