Alex Honnold Net Worth – As at 2006, the name Alex Honnold had never been heard in the climbing world, he emerged from nowhere in 2007 and free soloed both the Rostrum and Yosemite’s Astroman the same day, equating him to the 1987 feat achieved by the legendary climber Peter Croft.
All of a sudden, Alex earned prominent recognition. The next year saw him at the 1,200-foot, 5.12d finger crack that splits Zion’s Moonlight Buttress which he successfully free soloed, When his success was reported on the 1st of April, people questioned the veracity of the information, believing it to be a joke.

Early Life, Family and Education:
He came into the world on the 17th of August 1985 in Sacramento, California, which makes him an American national. His parents Charles Honnold (a French man) and Dierdre Wolownick Honnold (an English woman) were both professors, though they were worried about their son’s chosen profession, they still gave him their full support.
Unfortunately, his patents got divorced a few years later and his dad died a year after their divorce. Alex grew up alongside one sibling Stasia Honnold.
On his academics, he attended Mira Loma High School where he graduated from in 2003 with a 4.7 GPA. He proceeded to the University of California, Berkeley where he started to study civil engineering but quit at the age of 19 when professional rock climbing came calling.
Even while he was at the university, Alex Honnold skipped his studies severally while trying to hone his climbing skills.
He was five years old when he started experimenting with heights at a climbing gym and by the time he turned 10, he was already climbing several times a week. During his teens, he was involved in numerous national youth climbing championships; he also has some international contests under his belt.

The duo broke the speed record by completing the approximately 3,000-foot route of the Nose on El Capitan in Yosemite in 1:58:07, making them the first set of climbers to succeed in completing that particular route in less than two hours.
In addition to his climbing profession, Alex Honnold is an author, along with David Robert, he wrote a memoir titled Alone on the Wall which chronicled his exploits in climbing. The 2018 biographical documentary titled Free Solo which won a BAFTA award featured him as a subject.
