Adam Driver was born on November 19, 1983 in San Diego, California. His parents Joe Driver and Nancy Wright separated when he was young. He has an older sister named April. Driver grew up in Mishawaka, Indiana, where he attended Mishawaka High School.

He enlisted in the U.S. Marines following the 9/11 terrorist attack. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Lance corporal. Driver attended the University of Indianapolis followed by the Juilliard School. He graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drama.

Driver acted in a handful of plays during high school. His Broadway debut was a 2010 revival of George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession. He played the role of “Louis Ironson” in the play Angels in America (2010-11). Other stage appearances include The Forest, Man and Boy, and Look Back in Anger.

Driver co-starred with Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts in While We’re Young (2014). He appeared opposite Golshifteh Farahani in the drama, Paterson (2016). Driver was cast as the main villain “Kylo Ren” in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).

The film was directed by J. J. Abrams and also stars Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill. He won a Teen Choice Award, a Saturn Award and a MTV Movie Award.

The role of ‘Kylo Ren’ was reprised in The Last Jedi (2017). Other notable films include This Is Where I Leave You (2014) with Jason Bateman, Silence (2016) with Andrew Garfield and Logan Lucky (2017) with Channing Tatum.

He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Driver wed actress ‘Joanne Tucker’ in June 2013. They co-founded the nonprofit ‘Arts in the Armed Forces’ that performs theater for the U.S. military.
