Best 3D Movies on Netflix | 16 Best 3D Movies on Netflix

Back in the day, there were no movies or films or the big screens that we see today. Back then, there were some real plays and dramas in theatres.

Now while some people still do appreciate the sentiment behind these, real-life drama plays are not exactly for everyone now.

But looking at something that’s more real and is happening right before your eyes can have its own charm.

The movies these days have so much CGI and so much more to them that we can’t really replace them with stage plays. That’s where 3D movies come in.

Even with the most unrealistic scenes and visual effects that these modern movies have, they still give us a small dash of realness from the 3D effect that they hold and that’s probably the reason why we love 3D movies so much.

But it’s not just the 3D effect that makes these movies so amazing. It’s how almost every scene in these movies is shot with the intention of making the viewer feel that the characters are coming out of their screens.

Remember that scene from ‘Infinity War’ where Captain America is running right towards you? Even without the 3D, it almost feels like he’s coming right at you.

So regardless of the actual three-dimensional effect, 3D movies are still so much fun to watch. Netflix used to have 3D movies once upon a time but sadly not anymore.

However, they still do have movies that were initially released as 3D movies in theatres. So we’ve made a list of the best of those movies for you.

You might have seen these already in 3D, but you can relive all those moments again at the comfort of your home.

Here’s the list of really good 3D movies on Netflix that are available to stream right now.

16. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018)

Best 3D Movies on Netflix

It’s a great time of the year because it’s summer. No more cold winter blue when you have to sulk in a blanket and cry yourself to sleep.

And do you know what’s the best thing about summer? It’s summer vacation! Like everyone else, even the monster family decides to take some time off and go for a summer vacation on a cruise.

Right from the beginning, Dracula starts to hit it off with the captain of the ship, Ericka.

But that’s exactly where the vacation starts to go wrong because Ericka is related to someone who has dark plans for everyone in the monster family.

The third installment in the ‘Hotel Transylvania’ series is no less than the other and is a must for those who have been following this crazy monster family all this while.

15. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)

Best 3D Movies on Netflix

Johnny Depp is back again with his wit and charm as Captain Jack Sparrow.

In this one, Jack Sparrow is off on another quest to search for the Trident of Poseidon so that he can possess the power to control the seas because if he’s able to do that, he’ll be able to control his whole world that revolves around the seas.

But little does he know that there are other obstacles waiting for him on the way.

One of them being his own old rival, Captain Salazar, who awaits Captain Jack Sparrow to avenge for his previous loss against him.

It’s surprising that this movie received so much hate from a lot of people. I wouldn’t even say “It’s not that bad” because it was surely a level above that.

If you love Jack Sparrow and his insane adventures and have followed these movies all along, then what are you even waiting for!

All the 90s kids would remember the Spy Kids movies and the adventures of the two most badass kids out there, Carmen and Juni.

‘Spy Kids 3’ was the coolest of them all and was surely one of the best movies in the ‘video game’ themed movies.

The new movie comes with new characters because obviously. the kids who played Carmen and Juni are not kids anymore and the movie’s name is ‘Spy Kids’, not Spy Adults.

This new movie is about a new adventure of two twins who stop the evil Timekeeper from taking over the world.

If you compare this one with the previous movies in the series, you’ll surely be disappointed. But if you haven’t seen the old ones, then this is probably where you should start.

The entire film is as creative its concept and title, and by that I mean it’s absolutely amazing.

In the previous film, a crazy murderer had claimed the lives of 22 people, which had forced Tom to leave the city forever and never look back again.

But Tom returns ten years after the incident only to find everyone raising their fingers at him as the main suspect for the mass murder.

No one believes that he is innocent except for his old girlfriend who he had left behind. The movie is gory and thrilling just like other movies of its genre.

What adds to the violent fun is the fact that this one is in 3D.

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ manages to keep up the Star Wars legacy by presenting a great storyline, an impeccable cast, and some amazing special effects.

In this one, Rey seeks the help of Luke Skywalker to learn the ways of the Jedi. He does this so that he can fuel up the war against the First Order and give it more energy.

This film is so good even if you haven’t seen any of the previous ‘Star Wars’ films, you’ll still love it without being able to understand a few things here and there.

7. Cloud Atlas (2012)

Best 3D Movies on Netflix

‘Cloud Atlas’ shows the journey of six individuals, each from a different generation.

All of these individuals explore the extent to which even the smallest actions on their emotional journeys can have the biggest impact on the future and also how, in a world that’s constantly changing, the past, present, and future come together to make sense out of each other, showing them that everything is connected.

‘Cloud Atlas’ has a brilliant cast which includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, and other renowned actors.

This movie is not just a journey for the characters but also for the viewers, as it takes you everywhere and anywhere.

I’m sure watching this one in 3D would’ve been a whole different experience, but in case you missed out on that, you can still watch it on Netflix.

6. 9 (2009)

Best 3D Movies on Netflix

‘9’ is set up in a post-apocalyptic world that has been completely destroyed by man and machine.

It revolves around a rag doll that wakes up in this destroyed world and has the number 9 etched to its back.

The ragdoll soon discovers that there are others like him who have other code numbers on their back.

All these ragdolls may hold the secret to saving humanity from reaching its ultimate fate of complete extinction.

This film is a bit too dark for an animated film and going by the story, it certainly is a lot like Pixar’s ‘Wall E’, just a not so happy version of it. ‘9’ is a great 3D animated film with a deep and slightly scary plot.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ is a surprisingly great movie. It’s not only the best Thor movie but also one of the best films in the Marvel universe.

In this installment, Thor finds himself stuck in a very different part of the universe without his hammer, where he must battle ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and other dark forces to go back to his home, Asgard, and protect it from the wrath of his evil sister, Hela (Cate Blanchett) with the help of a Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson).

The film has everything from action to quirky humor to some great performances by all the actors and also a slick classic soundtrack by Led Zeppelin.

3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

Best 3D Movies on Netflix

All the recent Marvel movies have been surprisingly refreshing and great. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. II’ is one of them and proved to be even better than the first one.

In this one, Starlord (Chris Pratt) runs into a man who claims to be his father but a lot more secrets lie buried deep underneath the man’s outer fatherly image.

Starlord and his team of the Guardians of the Galaxy soon start to discover dark truths about the man and Starlord is left confused between choosing to fight him or defeat him.

Best 3D Movies on Netflix

With 6 Oscar Nominations and 3 wins, ‘Black Panther’ is one of its kind. The movie has perfect everything from cinematography to editing to the soundtracks.

The actors of the movie have done a great job and a partial reason why it got so much attention was because of the movie’s antagonist, which was played by Micheal B. Jordan.

Unlike most other superhero movies, this one holds a lot of depth in the plot and at the same time, also has some really cool action scenes.

If by any chance, you haven’t seen this yet, now would be a great time.

1. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
